Climate Friendly Workforce
We are thrilled to announce that Premier Windows has recently obtained certification through the Ecologi “Climate Friendly Workforce” program.
Our Environmental Responsibility
We’ve joined forces with Ecologi, a UK-based environmental firm, to plant trees and support top climate crisis solutions. Premier Windows proudly boasts the first climate-friendly workforce in the Australian window industry in this brief partnership!
Our commitment to sustainability and combatting climate change is evident as we offset emissions from both personal and professional lives, ensuring our entire team is now climate-friendly. This achievement aligns with our mission to provide sustainable hydration solutions.
While reducing our carbon footprint is essential, Ecologi reminds us that the pace of change must meet the urgency to combat climate change, emphasizing the need for more effective tools and action.
CASE STUDY: MADAGASCAR
Over the years, Madagascar has experienced a tragic loss as its once-thriving forests have been devastated. This destruction has resulted in the displacement of animal species. Put the livelihoods of local communities at risk as they depend on these lands. Additionally, all mangrove estuaries have vanished, exposing the soil to erosion and coastal damage.
These mangrove ecosystems capture carbon, providing habitats for various marine species found in shallow waters and acting as essential barriers against floods and storms along the coast.
CASE STUDY: MOZAMBIQUE
Mozambique, located on the side of Africa showcases a stretch of 2,500 kilometers of coastline along the Indian Ocean that directly faces Madagascar.
With a population of 31 million, Mozambique has a majority of its people living in areas accounting for 68% of the total. One notable characteristic of the country is its demographic, with 66% of the population under 24.
Over time, Mozambique’s abundant mangrove estuaries and forests have suffered depletion due to extensive tree cutting for firewood and charcoal production. In years, the northern regions have been grappling with extremist threats, which have resulted in the displacement of thousands of local Mozambicans. This situation has compounded development challenges such as access to education and healthcare. The turmoil has also led to increased reliance on subsistence agriculture, further contributing to degradation.
As a Planting Partner, we support Mozambique projects managed by Eden Reforestation Projects—a profit organization dedicated to global forest restoration. They are committed to offering fair wage employment opportunities for villagers through their initiatives.
